Botanical Name:  Santalum album

Manufacturing Process:  Steam distillation of the heart wood.

Country of Origin:  India

Aroma:  Woody, sweet, spicey.

Some Traditional Uses:  It has been used for centuries for medicinal and aesthetic purposes.  Famous as an aphrodisiac, it also has antidepressant effects and is a good remedy for insomnia, anxiety, stress and irritability.  It is popular in the treatment of urinary tract infections and bronchial ailments.

Skin: A valuable skin care oil, it is used to soothe and hydrate dry and mature skin.  Good for scars and stretch marks.  Its astringent, antiseptic,and bactericidal properties also make it an effective treatment for acne and oily skin.
