Botanical Name:  Juniperus communis

Manufacturing Process:  Steam distillation of the berries.

Country of Origin:  India

Aroma:  Pine-like, woody, balsamic.

Some Traditional Uses:  Used for centuries as an antiseptic, diuretic and protection from infection.  It detoxifies and helps the body eliminate excess fluids.  Good for reducing the symptoms of PMS and alleviating hangovers.  Often used in the treatment of urino-genital problems.  Effective general tonic, it is purifying, antiseptic and a mental stimulant.

Skin: Its topical astringent and antiseptic properties make this a good remedy for acne and skin infections and wounds.  Used to treat varicose veins and eczema.  Useful for the treatment of body odor.
