Botanical Name:  Foeniculum vulgare

Manufacturing Process:  Steam distillation of the crushed seeds.

Country of Origin:  India

Aroma:  Licorice-like, sweet, earthy.

Some Traditional Uses:  It is a popular remedy for digestive and intestinal upset, including nausea, flatulence, and colic.  Good detoxifying properties make it a helpful remedy for hangovers.  Its diuretic qualities make it valuable for treating the symptoms of PMS.  It is associated with dieting because it is known to reduce the appetite.
